Sweet Mother of Vintage Appliances!

I have yet to buy a place to call my very own "home, sweet home," so like a hopeless romantic daydreaming of what her first kiss will be like, I've spent years envisioning my perfect kitchen.  Pintrest, Google, Country Home, RealSimple, and countless other online and print periodicals have page upon page of design ideas that are all pretty but they just didn't make me go nuts and kiss the page, 'ya know?....or....am I the only one that does that?

Anyway, like a ship sailing at full mast but not a breath of wind, I was caught in the doldrums, trailing my finger in the big, vast, and overwhelming ocean of design trying to find the inspiration that would make my perfect future kitchen possible and then BAM!!!  Stumble Upon slaped me in the face with this site and I'm like, "Holy mother of pearl! My dreams can now be reality!!!" Well, not now now, but you know what I mean.  Dah! I always thought vintage appliances were flea market treasures found only by the the most cunning explorers or passed down through the generations like fine china or an original Monet.  I realized that I DO have a chance to have the kitchen of my dreams and instantly felt like my good friend LLoyd.

Giddy with child-like enthusiasm, I searched Pintrest and holy vintage inspiration, Batman!  I've hit the mother load!!!

Oh baby, baby, just check out these divine kitchens that incorporate retro-inspired appliances and decor.

Has your face melted yet? Check your pulse if it hasn't cause the aforementioned pieces just drive me bananas.

All this pintresting got me fantasizing about my kitchen the way you fantasize about food when you're on a diet and watch the food channel like it's porn.  Awww yeah,

I'd decorate that kitchen so good....

Oh...::blush:: sorry, I got caught up in the heat of the moment. Moving on.

Here's what I would start with in my amazingly retro kitchen.

I'd have this Ridiculously rad clock

And this sah-weet KitchenAid® Artisan Design Stainless Steel Aqua Mixer . Isn't it dreamy? I don't like classic white, they're just so plain. But this?! Oh, sweet Baby Jesus! It's on the registry already! :D

And I can't decide between the Jade Green or the Classic White refrigerator by BigChill because I don't know which one would go best with the mixer.  I'm pretty sure my approach there is back asswards, but what can I say? I love that mixer.  What do you think? Jade or White?

Oh!!! And get a load of this! Oh mama jamma!!! It's the best of modern and vintage design!!! Appelez hors du mariage, je suis en amour!!! ::le-sigh::

and, last, but not least, I'd finish it off with legs that go all the way up. Yes, I'm talking about a rectangular retro diner table.

::gasp:: Yes! Yes! Yes! ::BANG:: YES!
ahhh....Was it as good for you as it was for me?

::sigh:: So, that's it for now.  I've raved enough about large, inanimate objects for one night.
Be sure to let me know which refrigerator you think would go better with the mixer: Jade or White?

Til next time,

.V.
